So, Tata Motors once again launched something solid, something from future, something tech rich and something EV. Tata Motors captured the whole attention of public by launching their new electric version of their one and only sedan right now in market the Tata Tigor EV. The Tigor is a reputed subcompact sedan in the industry and now it is safe for environment too.
The electric version of Tigor is looking more exciting than the regular one, that pinch of blues on exterior is perfectly blending with the colour and showing the nature of the car. Although the design language is same there is no change in the style but still it looks fresh and energetic. The interior of the car is similar to what we have seen in regular Tigor.
Being an electric machine it is pretty expensive than the regular one, its price starts at 11.99 lakh and top model of this electric Tigor cost around 13.14 lakh. It is available in four variants,

This Tigor EV is powered by IP67 certified 26kWh lithium ion battery fixed beneath the rear seats or you can say on the rear axle of the car. The battery runs the whole vehicle, every element of it and shower the car with 74bhp of power and 170Nm of torque and these figures are seriously very impressive thus the car can touch 60km/h speed in just 5.7 sec from zero. It comes with Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor and Ziptron powertrain.

Most important thing about any electric vehicle is its range and charging time and if we talk about Tata Tigor EV the company claims that it can cover 306km in full charge and it will take less than 1 hour to get 80% charge via fast charger and the charger brand will install in your home when you'll buy it will refill your car in 8 to 8.5 hours.
It runs on 175/65 R14 tyre both at the front and at the back with disc and drum brakes respectively.
This is not the car which is full of LED lights and this is pretty suprising because being an electric car it should get LEDs because LEDs have less power consumption.

Exterior
There is not a huge difference in design language between regular and EV but the magic of blue colour on the exterior is giving it new punch and stricking appeal which makes this car very attractive.
Face
It looks the same but the minor changes are literally creating a kinda new Tigor or you can say a different Tigor. First of all, it's an electric car which means the grille is not the necessary element over here, thus it get a plain glossy black finishing in place of grille with Tata's new design nearby by headlamp, at the center the signature of Tata along with EV badging.
The line of humanity is also blue which is telling about the electric nature of the car. The headlamps of the car are not LED it get halogen projectors and in my opinion LED are perfect for EVs because of less power consumption.
The fog lamps are also halogen accompanied by LED DRLs.
The bumper of the car is sharp and giving it a very sharp appearance.

It get that amazing honey comb design indicators along with LED tail lamps, the tail light design is giving a cool effect to the vehicle which makes it very attractive and fascinating and the high mounted LED stop lamp is literally looks fab, the whole stripe of it make the rear very impressive.
The diffuser is finished in black with reflectors embedded along with parking light at one side only.
Shark fin antenna is there but sunroof is not available at this price point.
Interior
Even the cabin is not much changed everything feels same as the regular Tigor.
Rear seats, it offers you good amount if space and airy cabin thanks to big windows and rear wind screen. Unfortunately, at the back you won't get adjustable headrests however the good thing is that it get proper three fixed headrest. Comes with center arm rest with cup holders, but rear AC vents are not there and this price point deserves a rear AC.
Front seats, here you get adjustable headrests and all the basic manual adjustment whereas the driver seat get seat height adjustment. Arm rest is not giving by the brand which is kind of weird because nowadays almost every car is coming with front arm rest.
Dashboard, the dual tone dash fills the cabin with cool amd stylish vibes and that blue touches around the AC vents is so freaking awesome.
At the center of the dash the 7 inch infotainment system is waiting for you with bunch of features including apple car play and android auto connect. Below that you get some physical controls for fog lamps and for lock & unlock. On the right side of the infotainment screen you get a engine start stop button.
Below infotainment system AC controls are there, the best thing is that it comes with automatic climate control AC. Below that there is some space and one USB socket and 12V power outlet.
The rotatory knobs is nicely finished and also make shifting very easy.
Manual hand brake is there with two cup holders and bit of space.
The three spoke slight flat bottom steering wheel is there with volume and call controls on the left side. All digital instrument cluster is giving you information about the vehicle very interestingly, it shows you too much stuffs including, tripmeter, odometer, speedometer, range, battery left and the whole cluster is full of alert or warning light.
The car is amazing in terms of looks and in terms of features, the range it provides you is pretty awesome too and the charging time is good as well, but the only problem I see right now with EVs is that there are lack of charging stations, if you are a person of metropolitan cities of even big cities then EVs are best but if you are from small towns and cities then EVs are not you right now it will be in future definitely. In my opinion government should start building charging stations in remote areas first.
