Ninja 400 has been launched at 4.99 lakh, pretty expensive! | Price, Power, Mileage, Features | HighRPM

Once again Kawasaki launched the new version of their small Ninja, the Ninja 400 with some new stuffs that are giving fresh vibes to the bike.

This version of Ninja 400 is looking absolutely dope, alike Ninja 650 it got lots of features of big siblings thus it attract eyes like hell.

The sharpness and the eagerness to have chat with wind is simply visible on its face. Kawasaki's graphic work is literally standing out like always.

399cc engine is ready to command your adrenal gland to release adrenaline whenever your right wrist show some twists.

4.99 lakh in the ex showroom price of the new Kawasaki Ninja 400, launched in single variant with two colour options.

  • Kawasaki Ninja 400.....4.99 lakh

This Ninja is powered by liquid cooled 399cc parallel twin engine with 70mm of bore and 51.8mm of stroke where compression ratio is 11.5:1, DOHC 4 valves, fuel injection 6 speed transmission and BS6 emission compliant.

In terms of power & torque this engine churns out 44.7bhp at 10,000rpm and 37Nm at 8000rpm.

Now the surprising thing is that the cheaper bike than this, the KTM RC 390 produces more power than this and same torque. What are you doing Kawasaki?

The features and the price of this bike are not going hand in hand because it misses out a lot of nowadays electronics.

  • Dual channel ABS
  • Digital analogue instrument
  • Digital speedometer
  • Analogue tachometer
  • Gear change indicator
  • Side stand alert
  • Gear position indicator
  • Time
  • Digital odometer
  • Digital tripmeters
  • Twin tripmeters
  • Auto headlight
  • Fuel gauge
  • Low fuel warning
  • Low battery warning
  • Slipper and assist clutch
This expensive bike which almost cost you 5.5 lakh on road won't have, traction control, phone connectivity, navigation, cornering ABS and quickshifter and all this things are available in KTM RC 390

Mileage of the bike is not yet out by the brand, but it have 14 litres of fuel tank capacity which is pretty awesome I believe.

It runs on 110/70 17 tyre at front and 150/60 17 tyre at rear. Features disc brakes and dual channel ABS, at front 286mm of disc rotor is giving its service and at rear 193mm of rotor is present.

Get normal suspension, at front normal telescopic no USDs and all, and monoshock at rear.

Not surrounded by completely LED lights, bulbs are there too,

  • Headlights - Twin LED
  • Tail light- LED
  • Blinkers- Bulb
  • Auto headlight- Available

Dimensions and weight

  • Length- 1990mm
  • Width- 710mm
  • Height- 1120mm
  • Wheelbase- 1370mm
  • Ground clearance- 140mm
  • Seat Height- 785mm
  • Weight- 168kg

Looks

This is Ninja dude, Kawasaki's Ninja which means looks, style, swag and attitude is in its genes. That inbuilt brother.

400 is more or less looks pretty much like Ninja 650.

Face

Alike 650 it get twin LED lights which is slick in design and powerful as well. The most attractive thing about the face of this bike is beneath the headlamps it get a very fine or slight kind of winglets which might effect the ride I'm not sure about that.

Clear wind screen is there which is not adjustable accompanied with wide mirrors. Indicators are embedded in the fairing and they are not even LED which is not good at all at this price point. Even we can't expect this from Kawasaki because they haven't given LED blinkers in 650 so in 400, wildest dream.

I really like the face of all the Ninjas, the sportiness face is just what I look for.

Side scene

Huge fairing with impressive graphics giving it a killer appearance. The sharpness of the face is actually visible from the side. The sporty stance of the motorcycle is just overwhelming, the seat height is amazing short rider will also be comfortable on this bike, although ground clearance is very low so you have to be careful over very poor roads. Get massive saree guard and grab rais too. Chrome cover on exhaust giving intersting look to the motorcycle.

Tail

Get simple LED tail light with normal looking bulb blinkers but 150 section tyre is enough for grabbing attention. Tyre hugger is there and grab handles are there too.

Instrument cluster

It get old Kawasaki's cluster which is also present in Ninja 300 even the predecessor of Ninja 400  had the same one, no changes has been made over here.

You get analogue digital instrument cluster which have analogue tachometer on the left side side and digital screen on the right. Digital display shows you good amount of things which makes riding more fun and exciting.

At the end.....

The design of the is just amazing but it is very expensive because it misses out alot of things, like LED blinkers, phone connectivity, navigation, traction control, cornering ABS, quickshifter and fully digital cluster. Kawasaki should work on these things or if they don't want to include these then they should lower the price to some extend.
