First hybrid Bugatti is inspired by the watch world | HighRPM

 The roads with few footprints are associated with the most powerful hearts and indomitable mindsets. Those roars, those screams, those heavy breaths, and sweat that is not less than dripping lava nourish these roads to the finest.

Wild curves inspire sharp lines, silent nature gives birth to the most vocal personalities, the darkness which is scary to others shapes bright eyes with a legacy as aqueous humor and that atmosphere shows up in their aura.

After pumping its heart on these roads a new art has shown up to the world, with a new definition of craftsmanship and technology that infuses the two worlds together with elegance and the true beauty of these worlds.

From Bugatti's legendary canvas, this new dream, the Bugatti Tourbillon Pour l'éternité, has touched reality and amazed the world. -This limited edition art will hit the market in the upcoming months with all 16 chambers (cylinders).  

This soothing creation of Bugatti speaks about the legacy, innovation, and new era of Bugatti. 

With this phenomenal creation, Bugatti is stepping into the new hybrid world. Wait... what! Yes, it is a hybrid, but that doesn't mean that Bugatti is going to lose its charm. That charisma is still going to be there, and that aggressive DNA is still in those veins. 

This Bugatti Tourbillon is a new league of Bugatti where it has plenty of changes that were not there earlier but the best thing about Bugatti here, is that they are going with the time but they are not compromising with their real charm.


Bugatti Tourbillon engine...

The main highlight of the Tourbillon is its all-new engine which is specially built for it, it won't share any part with its other siblings. 

So, the biggest change they brought with the Tourbillon is the introduction of a new V16 naturally aspirated engine, which has dropped the legendary W16 quad-turbo engine which is powering the Bugatti Chiron. 

Cosworth has designed the 8355cc V16 naturally aspirated engine which has the potential to throw 986bhp of power and 900Nm of torque. The rawness of a naturally aspirated engine is something else and it also gives you freedom to touch high RPM thus the Tourbillon can be revved till 9000rpm.

This monster engine is coupled with 3 electric motors, 2 placed at the front axle and 1 at the back, and 789bhp is produced by this hybrid system.

The Tourbillon will come with an 8-speed automatic Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT) which is placed longitudinally. 

Because of this hybrid setup, this combined power figure is crazy 1775bhp of power, making this car brutal even at a slight accelerator touch. 

 

Bugatti Tourbillon Top Speed

Tourbillon don't have wings otherwise this engine has the capabilities to make this thing fly, nonetheless, thanks to this V16 engine it makes this car fly without wings. 

  • 0 – 100 km/h in just 2.0 sec
  • 0 – 200 km/h in less than 5.0 sec
  • 0 – 300 km/h in less than 10.0 sec
  • 0 – 400 km/h in less than 25.0 sec

 

Bugatti Tourbillon Design

Many things are going on, on the exterior of this beautiful machine. New cuts, curves, and an element inspired by the legendary Bugatti give it that legacy touch. As we know Tourbillon won't share anything with its sibling Chiron thus the freshness of the design is pretty sick. 

That aggression of the lines speaks louder than your intrusive thoughts but doesn't leave the hands of elegance that comes into play very subtly. Being a hypercar the the sharpness of lines and curves enhances the design for sure but also helps the car in terms of aerodynamics.


The face of this car welcomes you with Bugatti's iconic horseshoe grill accompanied by air vents on the left and right sides of the horseshoe grill. The eyes of this car look directly into your eyes with attitude, and the headlights of the Tourbillon are similar to what we have seen in Chrion the lights setup is the same as Chrion but the headlight housing is different from Chiron even better than that and this housing also helps in better airflow. 

An interesting thing is present in the design to lighten up its glamour and that is a line that starts from the front and goes all the way to the back of the car even to match the continuity of this line this car comes with a single wiper blade that rest at the middle of the windscreen. This line is inspired by the legendary Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic.


Coming to the side of the car you can spot another signature of Bugatti, the C-shaped side panels. A riveting thing is there to welcome you, I'm talking about the new stylish door that goes upward not like Chiron. With muscular shoulders, it shows its strength to this world.


A lot of things are going on in the back of this car and to me one of the most interesting views of this car. The back is giving me that naked streetfighter motorcycle kinda vibe, great designing job to say the least.

The tail lamp floats very nicely at the back with Bugatti in the middle. Stop lamp stand vertically on the line which is inspired by the legendary Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic. The rear tires are revealed to this world, unlike other cars covered. There is no diffuser treatment because the whole back is a diffuser on its own. 

Being a hypercar other than the usual windows they come with engine windows which give you a beautiful view of the puissant engine and there is no cover not even the glass one so you will have a great view of the new V16 naturally aspired engine.


Interior 

The aggression you encounter on the exterior turns into total calmness as soon as you enter the Tourbillon. The minimalistic atmosphere of the cockpit raises the question, is this a hypercar or some luxurious salon? 

For me, the main highlight of the interior is the instrument cluster, where three circular dials are facing you these dials are not the normal dials you see every day they carrier the beauty of a high-end automatic watch or tourbillon watch where you can see all the small parts of a watch working restlessly to show you, what time it is!

The instrument cluster is attached to the steering wheel where you get all the media and other controls. Other than this, the center part of the steering won't rotate unlike other cars although this thing is not new in the market we saw it 20 years ago in the Citroen C4 Picasso and even in the 1972 Maserati Boomerang.

Whereas other carmakers are running behind giving bigger screens and the number of screens Bugatti is in a digital detox now it doesn't mean that Tourbillon won't have a screen it has one that comes out from the center. 


At the end it's hard to see the legendary W16 is not going to roar back in the open but the new naturally aspirated heart has that rawness, that iconic sense and it accompanied but the hybrid system which makes this car an insane creation where the craftmanship of watch has joined the frame to level the auto sector.
