 In 2022, Tesla Model Y was the most selling EV in the United States according to the electrek.co. In fact in the list of top-selling cars in the United States by CNBC, there is only one electric vehicle and that is the Tesla Model Y with a total sales of 2,52,000 units in 2022.

Although this thing shows that, EVs will take a bit more to cement their feet in this industry it's not far away. 

Tesla is that brand that overloads its cars with features, power, and performance, and on top of all these things, the autopilot function of Tesla attracts people the most. The minimalistic design of the Tesla looks fantastic and perfectly defines the "elegant yet stylish" thing.

So, there are two variants of Model Y currently available in the market. One is the Performance variant and the Long Range variant.

The Performance variant comes with 75kWh lithium-ion battery dual motor AWD which produces 450hp of power and 639Nm of torque thus it touches 60mph from 0 in just 3.5 seconds with a top speed of 155mph.

Meanwhile, the Long-range variant comes with the same battery but the power figures are different, it gives you 346hp of power and 527Nm of torque, and because of this 0 to 60mph in just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 135mph. 

The power and torque figures are very impressive which gives you great punch and zesty performance.

   4. Range and charging time of Tesla Model Y

Range and charging are the most important aspect of an EV and the Model Y range is pretty good. The Performance variant has a range of 303 miles meanwhile the Long Range variant has 330 miles of range. 

With an 11kW AC charger, this will juice up in 8 hours and 15 minutes it means leave your car in charging at night and the next morning you will end up with 100% charge. 

   5. Interior of Tesla Model Y

The Model Y is super spacious and full of practicality. The massive 15-inch infotainment system has all the features and controls thus it has a minimalistic dashboard. But there is no instrument cluster or no HUD so it takes a bit to get used to it. The rear row also offers spacious room and comfortable sitting posture. Thus, Model Y became a nice family car.

   6. Safety 

In 2022, the Euro NCAP tested the safety of the Tesla Model Y and they concluded with a report that tells you the Tesla Model Y has 97% adult occupant and 87% child occupant which is awesome.
