The Honda City 5th generation is full of features and looks great! | Price, Features, Mileage, Performance | HighRPM

Honda has launched the 5th generation of Honda City and this City is having too many wow factors thus it is spreading its aroma across the whole market. This 5th gen is looking great from every angle, the sportier instance, sharp design features, and aggressive styling give it an attractive appeal.

The first thing you'll notice about this 5th gen is that it looks very sharp and very sporty indeed. This time it is reflecting some traits of its global sibling Honda Accord which is a great thing in my opinion because the Honda Accord is an absolute head tuner it looks phenomenal from every angle.

What is the price of Honda City 2023?

So, it is slightly more expensive than its predecessor. The starting price of the 5th gen Honda City is 11.52 lakh and the top model cost around 16 lakh. This time along with V, VX, and ZX Honda has also introduced a new variant which is SV, this is the base variant of the new Honda City.

The price of the hybrid version of the 5th gen of Honda City e:HEV starts at 18.92 lakh and goes up to 20.42 lakh.

The Honda City 5th gen is powered by......

There is only one engine diesel is not available. It comes with a 1498cc 4 inline cylinder DOHC i-VTEC with VTC petrol engine that serves you 119bhp of power at 6600rpm and 145Nm of torque at 4300rpm, definitely, the blank spot of i-DTEC is going to bother.

The car is available in both 6-speed manual and 7-speed CVT automatic transmission but I think at this price point it should get a DCT or a Torque Converter. It is compliant with the BS6 phase 2 emission norm.

There is a hybrid model of the City that also joined the Indian market with this. It comes with the same engine with 172.48 volt lithium ion battery Strong Hybrid Electric Vehicle system. It produces power of 97bhp at 5600rpm and 127Nm of torque at 4500rpm meanwhile motor performance is 107bhp and 253Nm.

Mileage of Honda City 5th gen.....

Straight to the point, the automatic variant of the 18.4kmpl meanwhile manual gives you a mileage of 17.8kmpl. Not the best mileage in the market but not bad at all.

Hybrid version has fuel economy of 27.1kmpl which is fab.

With 40 liters of the fuel tank, you get a pretty nice range.

The design language of Honda City 2023....

The design language is quite impressive, the new headlamps, new grille, and that sharp sportier bumper suit the attitude that perfectly goes with its design momentum. The usage of chrome on the face has been reduced to some extent, there is only a single thick chrome bar. There is a high-tech camera at the top center of the windscreen that scans the road ahead and helps in all functioning of all the ADAS features.

Coming to the side of the car, it is pretty slick, and being a sedan it has to be. The slickness is going with the motion along with the sharp lines running across the sides of the car. Chrome highlights on the handlebars add more detail to the overall style of the car. This new City has cameras on both ORVMs but these cameras are not for 360 views they are for lane change assistance.

Talking about the back of the car, it comes with a super sporty diffuser-style rear bumper which is finished in carbon fiber. This diffuser touch is working as a show stopper and other than these other elements of the back are kind of simple and basic.

The interior has a few changes not much, the rear row has a good amount of space, the rear center armrest is there with cup-holders and AC vents are there too. Front seats are very comfortable and great for long trips.

Dashboard got a new infotainment system which is bigger than before and has a bunch of new features as well however, it looks after the market to me somehow. Three-spoke steering wheel having all those usual function buttons and paddle shifter at the back.

What's new in the Honda City 5th gen?

There are a good number of things that were not there in the predecessor like:
  • New Front Grille, newly designed Front and Rear bumper & Alloy wheels offer an enhanced sporty style to the New City
  • Introduction of cutting-edge Honda Sensing technology in New City (Petrol) along with standard application in New City e:HEV
  • New Obsidian Blue Pearl color.
  • New features
    • Wireless Android
    • Auto and Apple CarPlay
    • Wireless Charger
    • Rain Sensing Auto Wiper
    • PM 2.5 Cabin Airfilter
  • ADAS
    • Collision Mitigation Braking System
    • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow (Only in Hybrid)
    • Road Departure Mitigation System
    • Lane Keep Assist System
    • Lead Car Departure Notification System
    • Auto High-Beam
  • Introduction of new SV grade in City (Petrol) along with existing V, VX, and ZX variants
  • BS-6 RDE compliant on E5 Fuel
  • E20 material compatible.

Therefore, this is the new 5th gen Honda City which is loaded with features and great design as well.
