Royal Enfield's new hunter is in the game now and the most interesting thing about this is that the name of this is Hunter how cool is that when your name talks about your job profile? the new Hunter has the essence of Royal Enfield which people pay for. The freshness of Hunter is putting a huge smile on RE lovers. The bike looks fab, the body language is showing the attitude which you expect from Enfield, it looks young, it looks stylish, it shows its maturity as well and it is also having that enriched vintage feel too which shows the love of RE for vintage stuff.
The Hunter is hunting in the 350cc segment where Enfield has its feet already, in my opinion, they wanna grab this region of the market brutally. So the Hunter is churning power from a 349cc single-cylinder engine i.e, serving some heart soothing power and torque figure to you thus you can have fun along with style.
The new Hunter of Enfield comes in two variants where the base variant will cost you around 1.50 lakh and the top end model of this hunter priced 1.66 lakh. this the ex-showroom price of the bike.
- Royal Enfield Retro Factory.....1.50 lakh
- Royal Enfield Metro Dapper.....1.64 lakh
- Metro Rebel.....1.66 lakh
The Hunter is having 349cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with 72mm of bore & 85.8mm of stroke thus the compression ratio is 9.5:1. It comes with a 5-speed manual transmission, chain drive, fuel injection, and BS6 emission compliant.
This 350cc engine is capable of producing 20.2bhp of power at 6100rpm and 27Nm of torque at 4000rpm. these power and torque figures allow you to take this machine to 114km/h of top speed which is not a jaw-dropping thing I believe.
The bike is containing a good amount of features not the overloaded thing but has all the basic and modern features as well, but one thing is still missing in this motorcycle, I'll talk about that in a bit.
- Dual channel ABS
- mobile connectivity
- Navigation
- Analogue speedometer
- Digital tachometer
- fuel gauge
- time
- trip meter
- odometer
- side stand warning
- service indicator
- adjustable visor
Talking about the mileage of the vehicle brand is claiming 36.2kmpl which is not bad at all for this kinda bike but in the real world, it would vary for sure. Meanwhile, the size of the fuel tank is great in my opinion it comes with 13 liters of belly whereas the bike uses 2.6 liters as reserved fuel.
Hunter runs on alloy wheels with tyres of size 110/70-17 at the front and 140/70-17 at the rear. along with these alloy wheels, they come with disc brakes at both ends, at the front 300mm of the disc is providing you control, and at the back, it has 270mm of disc. to maintain the comfy ride telescopic suspension is working nicely and at the back twin tube emulsion shock absorbers are paying attention.
The missing thing I was talking about was its headlight because it still comes with a halogen light setup.
headlight- halogen
tail light - LED
blinkers - LED
auto headlight- available
Dimension and weight of this Hunter
Length- 2,055mm
Width- 800mm
height- 1055mm
Wheelbase- 1370mm
ground clearance- 150mm
seat height- 800mm
weight- 181kg
Looks
The hunting look of Hunter is having great vibes and you can feel the maturity as well along with swag and stylish appearance too thus, this motorcycle attracts everyone out there irrespective of age filter. Alike other Enfield in the market that perfect blend of retro aroma with a tangy taste of modernity is just overwhelming.
Face
Firstly, from the front it looks amazing and all the things are well put together. The round headlamp and the round blinkers are maintaining that retro thing that enhances the front view of the machine but from here things started getting off because of that cost-cutting, still, this thing they launched the vehicle at this price point with a halogen headlamp. I know vintage looks great but you should include modern essentials as well.
Other than this there is no visor you have to face wind blast on your own, but the visor is available in the accessories list so you can opt for that if you wish so. The RVMs are round in shape to keep that retro appeal. no USDs are present and expecting that at this range is not too much I believe.
Side view
This side of the bike is talking about its potential by showing the big 350cc engine which is sitting there perfectly this shows the fit finish and build quality of the vehicle and this thing makes the vehicle stand out from the crowd.
Alloy wheels are blacked out which merges with the personality of the bike, talking about the seat height is 800mm which is good for all the motorcyclist enthusiasts out there irrespective of there because the 800mm thing goes for short and as well as tall riders, coming to another important fact ground clearance 150mm is plenty in my opinion. RE's graphics always drive a big smile on faces and the same things are available here too. A single piece is ready to serve you the best possible comfort, the saree guard is mandatory so it's there, and the fit finish is top-notch.
Tail
I really like the back of this bike over here you can see classiness and sportiness at the same time which is kinda absent in other views of the machine. Firstly, it gets a typical old-school tail light setup, where you have a small rounded tail lamp which is having LED inside and it gets vintage blinkers as well which are closely attached to the tail lamp thus that pure classy look comes into existence. To give it a sportier appeal the brand hasn't included tyre hugger although the long tail tidy tries its level best not to draw modern art on your or on pillion's back.
Instrument cluster
Alike other Enfields the cluster is simple and only shows you the essential things about the vehicle. but to survive the competition phone connectivity feature is there. Small round cluster where you get a digital display at the center of the cluster and around this you get an analog speedometer, the digital display shows you some important things like time, trip meter, odometer, fuel gauge, and other important things.
At the end.....
I real this bike that vintage feel and touch of modernity are phenomenal. But the LED headlamp could have been better for sure.....
