The makers of cute, powerful, highly sporty hatch has entered the electric field with their new electric hatch or you can say with their first electric vehicle, the Mini Cooper SE. Yes, that fun to drive carmaker Mini has taken a step toward electric zone of automobile sector.

Mini launched their all new first ever electric vehicle the Copper SE. The looks of this Mini is not like traditional EV they haven't vanished that Mini charm which is enough to put smile on people's face.

The Mini Cooper SE has that sportiness alike Mini and there are some bits which indicates that electric insect is inside.

The Cooper SE is powered by 32.6kWh li ion battery that blow life to the car.

This first electric Mini comes in only one variants and the cost of this car is 47.2 lakh ex-showroom.

The features all the features that is making this an intersting vehicle.

  • 4 airbags
  • ABS
  • EBD
  • ESP
  • Traction control
  • Hill hold control
  • Seat belt warning
  • Brake assist
  • Tyre pressure monitoring system
  • Child seat mount
  • Dual zone automatic climate control AC
  • Regenerative braking system
  • Apple car play
  • Android auto connect
  • Engine immobilizer
  • Cruise control
  • Parking sensors
  • Parking camera with guidelines
  • ADAS features (Optional)
  • One touch up/down windows
  • Manually adjustable seats
  • Three point seat belts
  • Rain sensing wipers
  • Auto headlamps
  • Drive modes
    • Mid
    • Green
    • Green +
    • Sport
  • Wireless charging

Talking about the range, brand is claiming 270 kilometres in full charge whereas the charging time is different with different chargers, like,
  • it will charge 80% in 2.5 hours by 11kW AC charger (home)
  • and 36 minutes for 80% by 50kW DC charger

The alloy design is very different from others and it is looking very cool indeed. The size of the tyre is 205/45 R17, low profile tyres, yo, impractical. Features disc brakes at both the ends of the car.

The LED lights are adding great look to the car and also illuminating greatly at night.

  • Headlamps- LED
  • Tail lights- LED
  • DRLs- LED
  • Ambient lights- Available (multicolour)

Its Mini by name and by size too, dimensions are like,
Length- 3.850m
Width- 1.727m
Height- 1.432m
Wheelbase- 2.495m

Exterior
Its a Mini man, the blend of cuteness and sportiness is just unreal. The kind of sculpting they done is amazing although there is not much difference from other Minis but still the aroma of freshness is just mind blowing.
Face
That same Mini affairs are there but changes have been made like the grille has no use so they have closed it completely given glossy black finish. Whole grille is surrounded by glossy back treatment. The bumper is sharp which is adding more punch to the appearance of the car.
It get side curtains for better aerodynamic bits, same signature LED headlights are there with oval DRLs that also doubles up as indicators. Hood gets a scope which has no use, ORVMs are coloured differently from body colour which you can choose from colour options, if you want to. Get rain sensing wipers too.

Side profile

The length of the car is not impressive at all, it's a Mini and dimensions always remind you that. This three door car with black out roof and along with that black out pillars as well. It get freaking awesome frameless doors which looks phenomenal when open. Black cladding is there to maintain the visual bulk. The alloy design is amazing and kinda unique too, the wheels get the colour touch which is available on the ORVMs and this things gives it more detail and intersting appeal. Window area is pretty big but you can't open the rear windows usual thing of 2 or 3-door cars but the rear glasses are tinted black. On the side you'll find the charging point.

Rear end

The best thing about Mini is their signature Union Jag design tail lamps, they look so freaking cool nah, just fab, indeed. At the back it get all the hatch things like, defogger, wiper, washer and simple spoiler. Down there it get reflectors and bunch of sensors.

Comes with the old school antenna and a panaromic sunroof, actually brand is calling it panaromic but it is not, its a dual roof setup.

Interior

Like always the cabin is full of enthusiasm, full of sportiness and the plane kind of feeling is awesome due to those aircraft like touches.

Rear seats

Its super rare to get spacious rear seats in 2-door or 3-door car, and same is thing is happening in this new electric Mini. At rear you get proper adjustable headrests, seat belts and all the important things but space is not for fully grown adults at all, it might accomodate kids and babies because of child seat mount. Here you get 50:50 split which increases the boot space mind blowingly.

Front seats

The seats are awesome with nice chunky side bolsters that hugs you like a love once, get adjustable headrests, adjustable under thigh support but everything is manual over here, go back and look at the price, it is a freaking 50 lakh car with no electric seat adjust not even for driver, this is weird Mini. Get armrest with some space and wireless charging.

Dashboard

Not much different from other Minis, but get great texture on the dash which is giving it an astonishing effect. Being a Mini and a relative of BMW there is no compromise with quality levels.

At the center you get a circular style infotainment system, the system is not circular the housing is with ambient light touch. The system is full of features and graphics & quality of the screen is splendid although it won't won't feature 360 camera as well and all the ADAS things are optional. Below this screen it have physical AC controls and aircraft style buttons to control different things. Then you get cup holders and a drive selector knob. Along with drive mode buttons,  infotainment system controls and electronic parking brake.

Steering wheel and instrument cluster

To direct you car brand has given three spoke multifunction steering wheel which is adjustable for reach and height too.

Now, all the Mini comes with the new full digital oval shape instrument cluster that is showing you bunch of information about the vehicle like, range, speed, battery, power, temperature, odometer, tripmeters and other things. Mini is not offer heads up display as well but that is available in the options list.

The car is majestic by looks but at this price, I believe they have fitted small battery that is not delivering good range and power as well. 7.3 seconds from touching 100 is not a Mini thing and other than that, the car missed out few features, like electric seat adjust and 360 camera.
This is first EV by Mini, the Mini Cooper SE........
