Isn't Ducati Desert X is overpriced? | Price, Engine, Features, Power | HighRPM

Rally bikes are not road legal in India which makes them very rare and special but this thing kept their zesty nature behind the curtains but to let everyone taste this zestiness Ducati has launched the Desert X, the bike that is showing a perfect blend of adventure and rally bike. The Desert X is made for both extreme off road and for long tours as well.
The main game of this Ducati comes out when it is in its habitat. Being a hardcore off roader this machine have all those things you need while exploring the wild or the unexplored. Unlike other ADVs it is not looking bulky in fact it is looking quite slick and body is telling that it has agility.

Desert X is a capable machine with things that are necessary for a rally or an adventure animal but the price of this animal has to match Ducati pricing and no doubt it is.
The bike is launched in single standard variant with price of 17.92 lakh ex showroom which means on road price will touch 19 lakh mark or may be 20 or may be above.

After paying this much you get almost all the electronics and all the things which are going to make tough off road cake walk. It has 6 riding modes where sport, tour, urban and rain are for road and enduro & rally are for off road.
Other than riding modes, it also features dual channel ABS which is switchable,
bi directional quick shifter,
wheel control,
traction control,
cornering ABS and
cruise control. Other than all these things it have all the standard features in a bike.

The Desert X is a great looking bike and look matter you agree or not looks matter but at the end heart is the only thing that matters the most. So, this bike is powered by Ducati Testastretta 11° 937cc twin cylinder L twin liquid cooled engine that happily gives you 108bhp of power at 9250rpm and 92Nm of torque at 6500rpm. The engine comes with 94mm bore, 67.5mm of stroke & compression ratio is 13.3:1. 6 speed manual transmission is there.
Mileage of this bike is around 17-18kmpl and the fuel capacity is 21 liters which means the range you'll get after full charge is around 374km which is not bad for this category bike.

Ducati took inspiration from their older rally bike and gave it some modern touches and presented you this bike which is full of charm and zest in its design and looks. Design of the bike is talking about its capabilities and potential. Huge suspension travel and and high ground clearance saying throw whatever you wanna we are going to take all with head high held.
The design works flawlessly with electronics and making you ride more adventurous and seamless. Having cruise control is like a blessing when you are on a long tour but unfortunately it won't have adaptive cruise control alike older sibling Multistrada.

5 inch TFT display in front of you which is placed vertically giving you all the possible and important info, this instrument cluster can connect to you smartphone through which you can get more info and other features and one navigation is also there. The display is fully coloured unit and looks great as well. Bike also gives you charging port.
Ducati has also tried new thing for the very first time, they have introduced additional 8 liters of fuel tank nearby the pillion seat and this tank kicks in when the main tank is empty but this is an option not standard thing.

The main highlight of this Ducati in terms of design is those LED headlights rounded and giving nice and as well as kinda of unique look to the bike. The bike also comes with the visor which is not adjustable. One more party trick of Desert X is that you can adjust handle bar as well, you have two settings one is more off road and another is for road.

It runs of Pirelli Scorpion Rally tyres, 90/90 21 at front and 150/70 18 at rear with Brembo brakes at both the ends. Fully adjustable up side down forks suspension at front and monoshock fully adjustable suspension at rear.

Being a versatile machine the Desert X can take you where no one stepped but the pricing is on the higher side and in my opinion it is over priced.......
This is the new Ducati Desert X..
