8.06 lakh is the top model price and new Citroen C3 have nothing! | Price, Feature, Mileage, Power | HighRPM

 The French brand, Citroen, in India has taken out their new SUV, the Citroen C5. This compact SUV is full of style and funkiness the car comes with attracting styling and youthful appearance that is working as a magnet and pulling youth toward itself. 

The car came and landed in the budget segment with minimal features and with only essential stuffs, but to overcome this basic thing about the vehicle, the brand has launched this car with bunch of customization & accessories options.

The car is only available is petrol engine with only manual transmission, sorry automatic lovers, but they haven't eaten up the fun factor that's why they have petrol turbo option that is for those people who used to seek fun while diving the car.

So, the C3 is present in the market with two engines, where the turbo variant is for car enthusiasts. The 1198 cc petrol turbo engine gives you amazing zesty drive that you were looking for. It's a 3 cylinder heart that churns out good figures of power and torque we'll discuss about that in a bit.

The price of all new Citroen C3 starts at 5.71 lakh and the peak of this price tag is 8.06 lakh ex-showroom.

The car is available only in petrol engine and won't have automatic transmission option. But to compensate this thing there is freaking 56 customisation options available.

Basically the car is present in the market with two engines both are petrol and only have manual transmission but the difference in their power delivery is pretty noticable. 

It come with one non tubro engine, 1198cc 3 inline cylinder DOHC PURETECH 82 petrol engine. This engine generates 80bhp of power at 5750rpm and 115Nm of torque at 3750 rpm. 

Meanwhile, the turbo engine, 1198cc 3 inline cylinder DOHC PURETECH 110 turbocharged petrol engine provide you 109bhp of power at 5500rpm and 190Nm of torque at 1750rpm. 

The car is FWD, only available in 5 speed manual transmission and 6 speed manual is optional and BS6 emission compliant. 

Citroen have shown us a hard contrast over here, their C5 Aircoss was over loaded with features and this one is completely opposite. The brand have done jaw dropping cost cutting.

This is the end of the list, this is another level of cost cutting, literally I haven't seen any car with this much of cost cutting, you won't have rear camera, rear defogger, manually adjustable ORVMs, and alot of things are missing even the alloy wheels are optional. I'm not sure with what mind set Citroen made this car even after knowing that India is a feature loving nation. Now, the most interesting thing to watch is that how they'll sell this car. 

Mileage of both engines is slightly different from one another, the non turbo variant give you more range, 19.8kmpl and turbo variant gives you 19.4 kmpl. This is company claimed figures in real world, thing will change. 

The capacity of fuel tank is same, 30 litres. 

Leave lower trims aside here the top end comes with steel wheel alloy is an option. Get 195/65 17 tyre at both the ends with disc brake at front and drum at rear. 

Talking about the lights, are you expecting LEDs seriously!

Exterior 

To digest the fact that this SUV rolled from the factory after facing brutal cost cutting, Citroen made this vehicle quite stylish although the C3 is having kinda similar design alike its bigger sibling present in India, the Citroen C5. The C3 is looking quite cool and the sense of fun is pretty high.

Face 

The face of C3 is similar to what we have seen in Citroen C5 but definitely changes are there and clearly visible. The headlamps are very similar to C5 but here you have halogen lamps with two LED DRLs cover the lamps from two sides and this two DRL looks is giving the car nice appeal. Citroen's style of merging their logo with the grille is always blend with the face so nicely that it feel great in every sense. The use of chrome is not too much but noticeable, blacked grille emphasis the coolness of the car.

Bumper of the car is finished in sliver color giving it nice vibe. As we all know that this vehicle came out with too much customization options and have lots of paint shades with dual tone thing as well and that dual tone thing looks fab nearby fog lamps, yes it got fog lamps too that of they are halogen. the overall face look of the vehicle is attractive and reminds of C5 but the lack of LEDs at this price range is a cause of buying a painkiller. 

Side scene 

It's a sub 4m car with those old school cheap looking door handles that tare spoiling the whole look of the car. It get side black cladding running all across the car with that C5 kind of touch to take the visual bulk of the vehicle. Roof rails are are there appearing to functional as well which is a good thing for this car. Windows are big enough to draw good amount of light inside the cabin thus the cabin become airy and refreshing. Height of cost cutting, the alloy wheels are not standard they present as an option even for in the top end (top end ex-showroom cost is 8.06 lakh). Ground clearance is pretty high respecting that SUV factor.

Rear end 

The back side of a car is plan, the lack of enthusiasm very basic and simple design is there now I don't mean that only over decorated thing of over stuffed things shines the most I now that simple thing have there own taste and I'm also simple and elegant lover but over here it won't have that elegant appeal. It comes with halogen tail lamps, Citroen logo at the center as usual, reflector are there at the down side of the back embedded in that black cladding, simple diffuser is there, no exhaust is peeking out from the back because it is beneath the body.

Now here comes the cost cutting, the car won't have rear windscreen washer and wiper and they call this thing an SUV. high mounted stop lamp is present with slight hump for spoiler. ok now the absence of these thing is still kinda fine but thing get worse over here this car won't even have rear parking camera that's flabbergasting indeed.

If you opt for dual tone then you'll different color roof and you can also go for graphics on roof option as well to make you car more attractive and personalize which is a great thing I believe. now don't expect sunroof please, get an old school antenna not the shark fin one.

Interior

If you love simple and basic things then this car is for you because inside 

you'll get basic things and also lack some nowadays features.

Rear seats 

Over here lots of basic amenities are missing like it won't have center arm rest, no adjustable headrests, no rear AC vents nothing of that sort. The power window buttons are the on the door its in between the front seats where rear AC vents lives this is a clever move to save money and nearby this you get some storage as well. No 60:40, no 40:20:40 split is there it comes with 100 folding. talking about the space you get not best not sufficient amount of room with comfy cushioning. You parcel tray where you can some stuff of yours.

Front seats 

The story is same here as well, no adjustable headrests, side bolstering is not that great too, arm rest is absent here as well but driver get manual seat and height adjustment. On the driver side door you only get of front two windows and you have to use the buttons at the center to control the rear windows. And this car also misses out electronic ORVMs control you have to use those ugly old manual control. 

Dashboard 

Now, here something interesting is happening the design and the decoration of the dash is just awesome. Some kinda unique touches are in the scene that maintaining the newly vehicle feel. Staring from the center 10 inch infotainment system is serving you its best and giving you nice responsive as well. It features android auto connect and apple car play and bluetooth connectivity too. 

The design have given on the dash is looking amazing especially in orange color, yes, you have two color options are available for dash one is the orange one the another one is grey but orange looks more better to me. The side AC vents are placed vertically and with glossy black touch around and center AC vents are even more cooler.

It have physical control for AC and features. coming to the gear knob the leather wrapped lever looks good. nearby this knob manual hand brake is present and some storage space too. 

Instrument cluster 

Again things getting bore here, although it comes with all digital display but this is the most ugliest cluster a car can have of this price point. Here you get big digital display which shows you limited amount of info like speed, tachometer, time and some other basic info and alert lights are placed all over the cluster.

I wanna wrap this blog out by saying that this car is a perfect example in cost cutting chapter from which you can learn how to go crazy when it comes to cost cutting.....
