2006 was year when TVS first launched Apache and it's being 15 years and in this journey they have delivered some stunning machines with constant update in design, in engine and in electronics.
According to Wikipedia there are 40 lakh+ Apaches are running on the road till 2020 and the counting is still going on with a fantastic pace. So, to celebrate this astounding journey TVS has launched their anniversary special TVS Apache RTR 165RP where RP stands for Race Performance.
The special anniversary edition is inspired by TVS Racing especially by Group C GP 165R thus the graphics and the design is just overwhelmingly enthusiastic and energetic.
TVS will only manufacture 200 units of this spcial edition Apache which makes it a hot cake because the brand have done extra homework to make this slightly more sportier than regular Apache in the market right now although the price is also on the higher sode compare to regular Apache 160.
On what price slab this bike stand? It stands on 1.45 lakh price range which is an ex-showroom price, it is only available in one paint shade which is looking phenomenal.
- TVS Apache RTR 165RP.....1.45 lakh
Manufacturer have changes or improvised many things in engine of this edition to extract as much power as then can.
It get 164.9cc single cylinder with 4 valves oil cooled engine with 1.37 bore & stroke ratio and 15% bigger valves and the flow intake is also hiked by 35% and to gain higher compression ratio they have used dome piston.
All this results in some mind blowing figures like 18.9bhp of power at 10,000rpm and 14.2Nm of torque at 8750rpm.
It comes with 5 speed manual transmission for faster shifts they have given slipper clutch. BS6 emission norm for sure.
Thus the result is 123km/h of top speed.
It feat all the basic and necessary features which makes it more desirable
Single channel ABS
Slipper clutch
Adjustable clutch and brake lever
Fully digital instrument cluster
Digital speedometer
Tachometer
Odometer
Twin tripmeters

Mileage of bike is not out by TVS but the tank size is 12L which pretty impressive.
This RTR is running on 90/90 17 tyre with 270mm of disc brake with ABS at front and 130/70 17 with 240mm of disc rotor without ABS at rear. Dual channel ABS could have been better.
Not the whole bike is loaded with LED light but important is headlamp which is LED.
Headlamp- LED
Tail light- LED
Blinkers- Halogen
DRL- LED
Dimension of this Apache.....
Length- 2.035m
Width- 790mm
Height- 1.050m
Wheelbase- 1.357m
Ground clearance- 180mm
Seat height- 800mm
Looks
Design of the bike is similar to the regular Apache RTR 160 4V but there are some elements which are different and the graphics definitely for which this edition is going to sell after engine.
Front
Being a fellow of naked segment it have all those symptoms. The headlamps is a LED unit and the style of headlight is not different at all. Visor is not there thus the back of cluster is clearly visible, blinkers are attached to the headlamp unit as we have already seen. Telescopic suspension is there to absorb all the bad vibes of bad roads.
Coming to the side the main highlighter are those red rims which are adorning the bike with sporty appeal. Now here all the graphics are fantastically grabbing the party. Lot of sporty work have been done on the fuel tank along with graphics, thus work is enhancing the looks of the bike no doubt on that but also making riding posture more oriented and zesty.
Ground clearance is ample, seat height is bit raised 800mm which might create some problem for short rider not much. Single piece step up seat with TVS badging and red & black colour combo which makes seat more premium looking.
Rear
Tail light design is same not changes but the design is amazing, blinkers are there and being halogen they are not looking that attractive. Tyre hugger is covering some portion of 130 sec tyre. Red coloured grab rails for pillion to hold on however this is the bike which you want to enjoy alone specially on track.
Instrument cluster
Cluster is similar to the regular RTR, its an all digital unit which has all the necessary and basic info nothing fancy. It won't get bluetooth connectivity and gear position indicator personally need gear position indicator because it happens many time with me that I forgot the gears I was riding in.
The graphics are making this next level attractive and TVS have really done great job in engine as well.
So, congratulations to TVS for completing successful 15 years of Apache and years are going on so we will experience great machines in future.
